Welcome to the 2020
Informal Economy Summit!
Hosted Thursday, June 11, 2020 from 10:00am - 12:00pm CST.
This virtual summit will facilitate a discussion to build a research agenda for scholars interested in phenomena in the informal economy. This will allow us as a community of scholars to build theory for management in this domain.
In order to get the most out of this virtual meeting, the preparation for this online conference will look a little different. All participants are invited to submit a 5-10 minute video introducing yourself, your research and current/future interests in the informal economy, and to pose questions to the audience. These questions can be ones that you are interested in pursuing, ones that you would like others to help answer, or agenda items for future research in the informal economy. These videos will help to acquaint ourselves with other scholars interested in the informal economy, and to help set an agenda for the actual summit.
Prior to the beginning of the conference, Dr. Arielle Newman and Dr. Lisa Jones Christensen will be reviewing all the videos and compiling a list of your questions to disseminate to the participants. We will create a list of 5 most commonly asked questions that will guide our discussion during the virtual summit. These questions will be announced 1 week before the conference for you to ponder on and prepare thoughts for the conference.
All videos must be submitted by to informaleconomysummit@gmail.com by Friday, May 22. A link to the videos will be uploaded here for all participants to watch at their leisure before the conference commences. The videos will also be available after the summit for participant reference.
