Introduction to Entrepreneurship Series
The Introduction to Entrepreneurship Series features classes on Self-Development and Small Business Preparation in Part I and classes in Starting a Business and Creating a Plan in Part II.
This introductory series is available through a partnership between USM Executive Education, Mississippi Power Community and Leadership Development Education and the Jackson County Small Business Incubator.
These classes are available in person and online, and the cost is $195 for the series. This special launch price is available through Tuesday, Oct. 15, only.

Introduction to Entrepreneurship Series: Self-Development and Small Business Preparation
Title: DISC Leadership Style and Generation Awareness

This session explores various leadership styles using the DISC model, helping participants understand their style and its impact on their team. Attendees will gain insights into managing a multi-generational workforce and learn strategies to bridge generational gaps and enhance team dynamics.

This course covers the physical, emotional and behavioral symptoms of burnout and common professional and personal triggers. Participants will learn to set realistic goals, prioritize tasks, create effective time-management plans and practice self-care in their daily routines. They also will learn how to set boundaries, effective delegation and the importance of regular breaks and activities.

This session helps participants polish their business plans and prepare compelling presentations. Attendees will receive expert guidance and constructive feedback on their business proposals and presentation plans.

This course is based on the "Five Dysfunctions of a Team." It begins with a self assessment through Wiley Publications and navigates group work through activities to overcome the challenges of unwanted behaviors.
