Service Description
Provide consultation services and is the initial point-of-contact for evaluation and/or deployment of prospective technology solutions for the university.
What Is A Project?
Maybe your area is considering installing new equipment that needs to operate on our
network. Maybe you want to implement a new software system--including software as
a service ("SaaS") or cloud services. Maybe you plan to make significant changes in
how you use an existing resource, such as implementing a new module, or performing
a major upgrade that brings about significant change.
Any of these endeavors can be called a project, which should be considered as distinct from daily operational activities. A project has a specific objective or set of objectives that, when accomplished, mark its completion. Projects typically require dedicated time and include working with a group of individuals. They can be internal to your college, school, or department but often involve cross-functional teams as well as external vendors.
The projects iTech engages in directly support the technology needs of academic and administrative units of Southern Miss. Some of the projects are behind the scenes such as upgrading the technology infrastructure. Regardless of your technological need, iTech wants to partner with you to support your goals and to achieving the best possible success.

BUSINESS ANALYSIS:
The Business analyst will help to identify business needs and determine solutions to business problems by actively searching new ways to leverage appropriate technology.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT:
Project Management is the application of knowledge, skills, and techniques to execute projects effectively and efficiently.
iTech has developed a structured methodology built on the principles provided by the Project Management Institute (PMI). This methodology includes the use of an integrated suite of project management processes and templates, governance, quality assurance, and, most importantly, leadership, which helps ensure project success.
This structure enables the Project Managers to develop comprehensive schedules that can be used to determine the progress, cost, and impact of issues and risks on project end dates. An integral part of project management is scope definition, requirements gathering, systems analysis, process mapping, design, implementation, project closure, and continuous process improvement to reach project goals.
