Moving Checklist

1. Are you moving to an Off-campus location?
University resources may not be available in off-campus locations. It will likely require at least 30 days for telephones and/or Internet connectivity to be set up. Additional cabling may be required as well. If you or your department is moving to an off-campus location, please contact iTech as soon as you are made aware of the change. Please use one of the following options:
- Contact the iTech Help Desk at 601.266.HELP (4357) and select option 5.
- Submit a work order through the iTech website
- iTech has been mandated to manage all telecommunication services for the university. Please refer to the ISS Procurement Manual for additional details.
2. Telephone
Some notes of importance:
- Telephones are purchased by and continue to remain the property of iTech.
- Telephones must be moved by an iTech technician.
- Each phone requires location specific 911 information that can only be updated by an authorized technician.
- Telephones are not inter-changeable between locations.
There are two options:
- Contact the iTech Help Desk at 601.266.4357(HELP) and select option 4.
- Submit a work order through the iTech website, and select a subcategory from the Telephony and Conferencing from the Services menu.
If the new location does not contain an active telephone jack, the move may require installation of cable. Please be aware this will require advance notice, and charges may be incurred. This may take several weeks to complete.
3. Network connection– you have two options:
- Contact the iTech Help Desk at 601.266.HELP (4357) and select option 5.
- Submit an iTech work order for a network jack activation, and select Telephony and Conferencing from the Services menu.
If the new location does not contain an active network jack, the move may require installation of cable. Please be aware this will require advance notice, and charges may be incurred. This may take several weeks to complete.
4. Printer Setup– you have two options:
- Contact the iTech Help Desk at 601.266.HELP (4357) and select option 5.
- Submit a computer work order to have a technician assist in mapping your new printers, and select the appropriate category from the Printing and Related Services category from the Services menu.
5. Computer Equipment
- If you cannot move your computer equipment, you will need to put in a work order or contact the Physical Plant at http://www.usm.edu/physical-plant or 601.266.4414.
Once the computer has been moved to its new location, a technician may assist with mapping your new printers.

- Put in a computer work order through the iTech website, and select the appropriate category from the Printing and Related Services category from the Services menu.
