Dr. Danielle Carrier

Bio
Danielle M. Carrier, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Southern Mississippi. Her research agenda explores the influence of intersecting contextual factors in shaping teacher identity and decision-making. Dr. Carrier’s expertise involves the social context of education including foundations, policy, and practice related to culturally relevant education. Informed by her experiences as an educator in Connecticut, the District of Columbia, Singapore, Texas, and Georgia, Dr. Carrier’s interdisciplinary research interests include the history and politics of education related to educational policy and practice. Dr. Carrier has served in various leadership capacities in the educational research community including the American Educational Research Association (AERA) Division K (Teaching and Teacher Education), and as a U.S. and international educator.
