Bio
Brianna Jahn, Assistant Professor and Dance Program Coordinator, earned her MFA in Dance from the University of Arizona, her BFA in Dance from SUNY Buffalo, and is a Professional Fletcher Pilates teacher. Jahn has performed/choreographed professionally with Hub Dance Collective, Configuration Dance Theatre, and ConvergeDance Buffalo. Her creative research lies in multidisciplinary and highly collaborative efforts, punctuated by self-examination exploring choreographic portraiture. Recent projects include I See You: an evening length concert, Together-Apart, Kamiondra, and A Series of Senior Sketches (screen dance) set on USM’s Repertory Dance Company, Self Portrait no. 2 commissioned for the “When There Are Nine” artists reception, Guys and Dolls for Southern Miss Theatre, and SLIDE, a collaborative work in Mary McDonnell’s art exhibit. Jahn approaches choreography, performance, and teaching, from an expressive perspective, informed by her research within the dance science community.
