Susan Dobson

Bio
Susan Dobson received her BA degree in English from William Carey University in 1997 and her MPH degree in Health Education from USM in 2003. Ms. Dobson has been a Certified Health Education Specialist since 2005. She began teaching adjunct in the Department of Public Health at USM in 2003, joined the teaching faculty full time in 2007, and was promoted to Lecturer in 2018. Ms. Dobson has also served as the program’s undergraduate coordinator since 2007, being instrumental in the program becoming the only accredited undergraduate public health program in the state in 2017. Ms. Dobson worked as a professional health educator for the Area Health Education Center (AHEC) and USM's Student Health Center. She also served as program director for the Partnership for a Health MS and as marketing/income development assistant for the American Cancer Society. Ms. Dobson served on local collations to successfully advocate for local smoke-free ordinances in both Hattiesburg and Petal.
