DuBard School Annual Fund
Page Content
We continue to work to change the lives of individuals with communication disorders; unfortunately, the need for services exceeds the resources available. You can help us work towards changing that.
Why does DuBard School need donations?
Enrollment Program
DuBard School offers specialized services to individuals with severe language disorders. Unlike other similar programs across the country that may charge $25,000 to $75,000 a year for similar services, our enrollment program is provided at no cost to families. Our typical cost per child per year averages around $20,000.
The Mississippi Department of Education partially funds our full-time enrollment program, averaging between 75-85% each year. In the 2012-13 school year, their funding only covered 57% of expenses. While other fundraising efforts help make up some of that loss, 30-40% of expenses must be covered by private donations from individuals like you.
Outclient Services
The Outclient Services program differs slightly from the enrollment program in that services are fee-based. However, not every family who needs these services has the financial resources to be able to receive them. That is where our donors come in.
Research and Professional Development
The number of individuals we can reach within our walls is limited; however, the ability to expand that reach is endless through continued research and professional development. Research is conducted regularly on how our students best learn and how the DuBard Association Method® affects that learning.
Our professional development program is accredited by the International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council (IMSLEC), accredited by the International Dyslexia Association (IDA) for meeting the IDA Knowledge and Practice Standards for Teachers of Reading, and is an American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Continuing Education Approved Provider. Each year, approximately 150 individuals across the globe are trained in the DuBard Association Method®.
You can decide where your money goes.Any time you make a donation to DuBard School, you can decide if you want your money to go to direct services to children, professional development, research or simply where the need is greatest. Annual Giving is no different. You choose where you make your impact on the lives of individuals with language disorders.
