Inspiring the Next Generation of Cyber Stars
Cyber to the Top is our K-12 outreach program that provides summer camp and other co-curricular activities.
By engaging our youth with safe and fun active learning activities in computing and cybersecurity, we believe we can widen and diversity the pipeline of technical talent in the United States.
GenCyber Camp
Applications are invited to apply to the summer 2024 GenCyber residential camps focusing
on cybersecurity career paths. Each camp will provide hands-on learning activities
that will allow participants to learn cybersecurity vulnerabilities, cyber defense,
cybercrime and ethics, and how safe online behavior is crucial to our national security.
Participants will learn from cybersecurity faculty, industry, and military professionals.
Experience USM in the Summer: Live On Campus for a Week
Participants will stay overnight in residence halls on the main campus of USM for a week. Meals will be provided. There is no cost to participants.
Camp Dates:
- June 2-7, 2024
Priority will be given to JROTC Cadets in Mississippi and Alabama, but all students
in grades 9-12 in fall 2024 are encouraged to apply.

GenCyber is part of the solution to the nation's shortfall of skilled cybersecurity professionals. GenCyber camps are offered at no cost to participants.
These camps are funded by the National Science Foundation/National Security Agency’s GenCyber program.
