Finding A Platform for Research/Projects Undergraduate Research Symposium  An annual conference that showcases the outstanding work of our undergraduate students across campus.  Center for Pathways Experiences Assists undergraduate students in finding, funding, and finishing pathway experiences that connect to their post graduation goals, including research (scholarly and/or creative) and fieldwork/other activities. Drapeau Center for Undergraduate Research Supports all aspects of undergraduate research and creative activity, including community-engaged projects. Golden Idea Pitch Competition The competition provides students with support, mentorship, and funding to help launch their big ideas! Nationally Competitive Programs Staff in the Nationally Competitive Programs office advises and assists students with applications to a variety of nationally competitive scholarships, fellowships, grants, etc. The Student Opportunity Center Access over 11,000 internships, research and other opportunities: conferences and competitions; journals for publication of undergraduate scholarly work; internship, co-op, and research programs; and funding for undergraduate scholarly activities. Other Funding Opportunities There are many opportunities for undergraduate students to get involved in research, creative or other scholarly activities, find funding for these activities, or share their work on campus and beyond.

USM Study Abroad has programs in the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Peru, Belize, the Netherlands, and more. Programs range from a few weeks to a full semester or academic year exchange. It also helps students with internships. Make an appointment today!

Summer Field Experiences
Learn about coastal environments in an intense laboratory and field setting. Offered during the summer academic terms, you can earn USM credit while immersing yourself in the Mississippi Gulf Coast’s natural environment.
